Polgara listened to the conversation and felt it with her mind. She didn't try to pick up full thoughts, that took a lot of effort and would have been much more noticeable. The light brush on their minds was to pick up the way they were thinking. Enough to pick up that they were being truthful, if bored...and a little fresh. Typical soldiers.

"Thank you gentleman," she said to both. She was feeling generous so she gave the younger one a bright empty headed smile. She could flutter her eyelashes and break hearts with the best of them. It was fun sometimes.

"Well then, Kamijou, why don't we take a look," she said and walked towards the camp. She waited until they were out of earshot of the guards before continuing, "Did that seem odd to you?"
