"Wait, there was an earthquake?" he said in confusion. "That's strange. When I first woke up, I was high up in a tree and stuck in a very precarious position. It was hard enough getting myself adjusted to suddenly appearing inside of a tree. Hell, I nearly fell off in surprise when I spotted you laying there on the road. An earthquake would have definitely sent me tumbling towards the ground."

Although trees weren't plentiful in the area and the chances of him appearing in one seemed slim, a quick examination of his person did validate his statement. His light green jacket, which looked considerably out of place with the swim shorts he was currently wearing, had a couple of noticeable spots where it was torn. In addition, a few scratches marked his face where branches had cut him. The ultimate piece of evidence, though, was the single twig sticking out of his spiky hair.
